Comedian Dieter Nuhr receives Leo Baeck Prize from Central Council of Jews

German comedian, author, and moderator Dieter Nuhr has been honored with the prestigious Leo Baeck Prize, the highest award bestowed by the Central Council of Jews in Germany. The ceremony took place in Berlin, where Nuhr received the accolade, which includes a 15,000 euro endowment.

Central Council President Josef Schuster praised Nuhr for his work in exposing double standards, particularly within the German media landscape concerning issues related to antisemitism. Schuster highlighted that the award comes at a critical time when Jewish communities are facing immense pressure and a "normalization of Jew-hatred."

Schuster stated that Nuhr stands with the Jewish community during this period of increased hostility.
