Comedian Pyo In-bong Bakes Fish-Shaped Pastries for Homeless Near Seoul Station

South Korean comedian Pyo In-bong is dedicating his time to a heartwarming cause, baking and distributing freshly made fish-shaped pastries to homeless individuals near Seoul Station. Videos shared by the YouTube channel CGN show Pyo and his wife actively engaged in this volunteer work, which began in 2024 at his wife's suggestion. "We wanted to offer homeless people freshly baked bungeoppang instead of cold food," his wife explained. "We thought it would be nice for them to have something warm, especially when it's very cold."

Pyo took the initiative to find suitable locations and manage the preparations for the bungeoppang distribution. Upon his arrival at Seoul Station plaza, a crowd had already gathered, anticipating the couple's arrival. Beyond serving the warm pastries and fish cakes, Pyo also prepared a small performance to entertain those waiting. "I prepared a performance because I thought they might be bored while waiting. It's not a grand production," he said.

Pyo also shared insights into the personal changes that led him to this path. Influenced by broadcaster Kim Won-hee, he began studying the Bible and found faith in his 40s. This spiritual journey appears to have profoundly shaped his desire to give back to the community, turning his attention toward those most in need.
