Como rejects two massive offers for Baturina, English clubs offered €70 million

Italian club Como has reportedly turned down two substantial offers from English Premier League clubs for Croatian talent Martin Baturina, with bids reaching an astonishing €70 million.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are said to be the clubs that made these lucrative proposals, according to Belgian insider Sascha Tavolieri. However, Como views the young Croatian midfielder as indispensable and has no intention of selling him, unless an offer truly cannot be refused.

Baturina was acquired by Como from Dinamo Zagreb last summer for €18 million and signed a five-year contract. After a slow start to his first season, he exploded in the latter half, becoming a key player for manager Cesc Fàbregas. He finished the season with eight goals and four assists in 34 appearances.

Como's owners are among the wealthiest in Italy, alleviating any pressure to sell their top players. With four years remaining on his contract, Baturina is expected to be a crucial factor in the club's ambitions to reach the European elite in the coming seasons. The club is also set to compete in the Champions League this season, with even greater long-term aspirations.
