Concepción Drives Bolivia’s Forest Economy as Forestry Business Meet Closes with $3.5 Million in Deals Intended

Concepción’s role as a meeting point for Bolivia’s forestry sector was reinforced when a business gathering closed with $3.5 million in intended deals. The agreements are expected to be concluded over the next nine months, exceeding the organizers’ expectations.

The figure marks a 25% increase from 2025, when intended business reached $2.8 million. The Social Business Meeting for the Forestry Industry formed part of the sixth Forestry Fair and was promoted by the Bolivian Forestry Chamber and the Autonomous Municipal Government of Concepción.

The event brought together 26 representatives of companies, Indigenous communities and institutions. Delegations from Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay took part, along with local authorities. Over four hours, participants held 195 in-person and virtual meetings involving small, medium-sized and large forestry operators.

The talks highlighted semi-finished products, efforts to expand markets and new commercial opportunities linked to certification. The participation of Indigenous communities also pointed to broader efforts to establish alliances within the forestry industry.

Mauricio Viera, Concepción’s mayor, thanked the organizers for holding the business meeting in the municipality. Diego Justiniano, vice president of the Bolivian Forestry Chamber, said the event could strengthen ties between buyers and sellers. “The Social Business Meeting for the Forestry Industry gives us the opportunity to strengthen ties and build better buyer-seller relationships. We are an important sector that contributes to the economy and will help move the country forward,” he said.
