Congress delegation to visit Ayodhya today; Ajay Rai placed under house arrest

A high-level Congress delegation is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Tuesday to offer prayers at the Ram temple. However, the party's Uttar Pradesh chief, Ajay Rai, has been placed under house arrest at a hotel in the city, according to a Congress statement.

The delegation includes several Members of Parliament, such as Kishori Lal Sharma from Amethi and Rakesh Rathor from Sitapur. Other party members, including former officials and legislators, are also expected to join the visit. The Congress party has formally notified the local administration about their planned trip.

This visit comes amid controversy surrounding alleged embezzlement of funds at the Ram temple. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh minister Dayashankar Singh criticized opposition leaders, including those from Congress. He stated that these leaders do not believe in Lord Ram, have never visited the temple, and have not contributed to its construction, yet they question those who have dedicated themselves to serving the nation.
