Conscription, oath, and demobilization will be held in a new format in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is set to implement a new format for its military service, encompassing conscription, the oath ceremony, and demobilization. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the changes at the "Aibyn" International Youth Military-Patriotic Gathering, stressing the nation's commitment to nurturing a patriotic younger generation. He stated that military service should be a pivotal stage in developing genuine patriots, supporting an initiative to modernize army traditions under the principle: 'Responsible Citizen – Warrior – Defender of the Fatherland.'

Military service must become a crucial, key stage in educating genuine patriots. Therefore, I have supported the initiative aimed at modernizing army traditions in accordance with the principle: 'Adal azamat – Sarbaz – Otan qorgauyshy' ('Responsible Citizen – Warrior – Defender of the Fatherland')

Tokayev believes the modernized ceremonial procedures will lend greater significance and symbolism to these key military milestones. This, he explained, will strengthen intergenerational continuity and elevate the army's standing within society and among the youth. The President highlighted that serving in the military is a profound honor, and those who complete their service with dignity deserve societal respect and recognition. He urged for a sense of pride among parents whose children choose military service, equating active patriotism with diligent work across all sectors, including the armed forces.

The Head of State also underscored the necessity of state symbols and civic responsibility as foundational elements of a young person's worldview. He concluded by asserting that Kazakhstan's future hinges on its patriotic, educated, hardworking, and creative youth.
