Contemporary artists reinterpret historical Valais landscapes and portraits in Sion exhibition

La Ferme Asile in Sion, Switzerland, a former farm now serving as an art center, is hosting a unique exhibition titled 'A L’errance de nos pas.' This exhibition showcases contemporary artists engaging with landscapes and portraits from the Valais region, painted over a century ago.

The venue itself, a historic 'Grenette' from the 19th century that once housed a covered market, now features an exhibition space across two levels. Visitors can explore works under its arcades, which also accommodate a café and a cheese shop.

Among the featured artists is Isaline Pfefferlé, an art historian and curator of the city of Sion's art collection. She is presenting her work 'A L’errance de nos pas' and also serving as the guest curator for the exhibition, invited by La Ferme Asile. The exhibition also includes Selim Boubaker's sculpture 'PiIlier Déraciné M.B.' (2021), crafted from robinia wood.
