A controversial funeral for a prominent FARC dissident, identified as 'Barbas,' has ignited public debate in Antioquia, Colombia. Videos circulating on social media show a celebratory send-off for Kevin Orley Gómez Muñoz, 30, who was reportedly killed by a rival 'Clan del Golfo' faction.

'Barbas,' described as the second-in-command of the 36th front of the FARC dissidents in the Bajo Cauca region, was a wanted man. Authorities had placed him on their most-sought list for charges including aggravated conspiracy and illegal arms possession. He was also accused of coordinating explosive attacks against security forces and involvement in kidnappings.

The funeral procession, which took place on August 6, was marked by a large gathering of 'comrades' and supporters. Attendees accompanied the coffin, adorned with the flag of the 36th front and the ELN, with loud popular music and significant amounts of alcohol. The unusual display, recorded and shared by participants, has drawn criticism and national attention.
