Copa Argentina: Deportivo Riestra eliminates Gimnasia de La Plata on penalties

Deportivo Riestra has knocked Gimnasia de La Plata out of the Copa Argentina, securing a quarterfinal spot with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory following a 1-1 draw in regular time. The match took place at the Norberto Tomaghello stadium in Florencio Varela.

The upset comes as a significant blow to Gimnasia, often referred to as 'El Lobo,' which is still reeling from a 4-0 loss in the league's classic match against Estudiantes.
