Copenhagen named world's best city to live in for second year running

Copenhagen has once again claimed the title of the world's most livable city, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) latest annual ranking. This marks the second year in a row the Danish capital has secured the top position, fending off competition from Vienna, the former long-standing holder of the prestigious title. The EIU's comprehensive analysis evaluates 173 cities globally across five key categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. Copenhagen achieved perfect scores in stability, infrastructure, and education, contributing to its sustained success. Experts attribute Copenhagen's consistent performance to a "winning combination" of excellent stability and infrastructure ratings, coupled with a strong cultural and environmental offering and high-quality public services. While the city is lauded for its safety, functionality, and vibrant social life, the EIU notes that the high cost of living remains a significant downside for residents. Other cities in the top 10 include Melbourne and Sydney from Australia, Zurich and Geneva from Switzerland, Osaka and Tokyo from Japan, and Vancouver from Canada, reflecting a strong presence of European and Australian urban centers.
