Copenhagen University to consider applicants with sick exams after deadline

Copenhagen University has reversed its decision and will now consider applicants who took a sick exam after the initial deadline for study places this year. The university informed Ritzau that it has contacted eight applicants directly affected by the recent change in practice.

Previously, the deadline for submitting exam certificates for admission was moved to July 5. This change meant that students who had a sick exam scheduled for August would no longer be considered for admission in the same year. However, this is no longer the case for this year.

The university announced on its website that applicants needing a sick exam must submit their certificates by August 31. The university is working to identify and contact any other applicants who may have received the earlier information and consequently did not apply. "For this group, Copenhagen University will administer the application deadline leniently," the statement read.

Other potentially affected individuals are encouraged to contact the university, which is working diligently on guidance and case processing. The deadline for applying for higher education through Quota 1 was Sunday at noon. Earlier on Saturday, the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science had urged the university to allow applicants with sick exams to be considered this year, citing the previous practice that had led applicants to expect they could apply.
