Córdoba Security Minister details search for missing teenager Luciana Alarcón

An intensive search operation is underway in Córdoba, Argentina, for Luciana Aylén Barrios Alarcón, a 15-year-old girl who vanished after leaving school. Minister of Security for Córdoba, Juan Pablo Quinteros, confirmed that precise testimonies indicate she left school and did not return, but her subsequent location remains unknown.

The search is focused on the rural areas surrounding Colonia Caroya.

While Quinteros refrained from detailing specific hypotheses, emphasizing that only the prosecutor handles them, he stressed the need for caution to avoid jeopardizing the investigation. The operation began on Monday, June 8, 2026, after the teenager's mother reported her missing when she failed to return from classes and was unreachable by phone. The prosecutor, Guillermo Monti, is directing the investigation and gathering statements from family and friends.
