Çorum FK Chairman: 'Endless demands' blocked Aubameyang transfer, club invested 30 million Euros for Super League promotion

Çorum FK Chairman Savaş Balçık expressed pride in the club's promotion to the Super League, revealing an investment of nearly 30 million Euros to achieve this goal. Balçık stated that the club's ambition extends beyond domestic success, aiming for European competition with the support of the local community.

Balçık emphasized the importance of unity within Çorum to propel the club forward. He spoke of plans to address infrastructure challenges, such as the lack of an airport, and indicated the club might take on the project. "We want to make Çorum's name heard everywhere because they ignore Çorum," Balçık declared, asserting the club's equal standing with traditional powerhouses.

Regarding transfer speculation, club vice-chairman Feyyaz Gökel addressed rumors surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He explained that while a preliminary agreement was reached, the player's "endless demands" ultimately halted the transfer. Gökel also detailed ongoing stadium improvements costing approximately 3 million Euros and extensive renovations to club facilities, underscoring their commitment to long-term success in the Super League.
