Costa Rica’s annual inflation remains negative at -0.17% in August

Costa Rica recorded annual inflation of -0.17% in August, extending a run of negative changes in the consumer price index to 16 consecutive months.

The index has remained below the tolerance range of the Central Bank of Costa Rica for 40 consecutive months. The figures highlight the continued weakness in consumer-price growth as the country’s inflation recovery remains stalled.
