Countdown Begins for 2nd Marmaris Seafood Festival

The excitement is building for the 2nd Marmaris Seafood Festival, an event set to showcase the rich flavors of the Aegean, local Marmaris products, and a variety of colorful activities spread over three days. Marmaris invites everyone to share in the bounty of the sea, the richness of gastronomy, and the unique atmosphere of the Aegean.

The festival, centered in the tourist neighborhood of Selimiye, will host visitors with a packed program encompassing gastronomy, sports, art, and music over its three-day run. The opening ceremony on Friday, October 2nd, will feature a parade, concerts, an exhibition of old Marmaris photographs, and dance performances, promising a colorful start to the festivities.

The second day, Saturday, October 3rd, will continue with events throughout the day. In the evening, Selimiye will host a street fashion show by Simay Öztürk, whose designs are inspired by the sea. Simultaneously, an event highlighting local products will take place in Taşlıca, featuring a local products market where producers and regional goods will be showcased all day.

The final day, Sunday, October 4th, will be dedicated to activities intertwined with the sea and nature. Following a yoga session at Sığliman, a Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) event will be held, with a call to "Bring your board and come!" for those seeking a delightful experience on the water.

Throughout the festival, chefs will present live cooking demonstrations, kitchen stage shows, tasting events, workshops, and gastronomic gatherings, bringing the special flavors of Aegean and Mediterranean cuisine to the festival grounds. Food and beverage stalls, along with souvenir stands, will also connect local producers, businesses, and regional products with visitors.

Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü emphasized the festival's importance in highlighting Marmaris's local values and extended an invitation to all. "We will experience a beautiful festival atmosphere together for three days," Mayor Ünlü said.
