Couple Found Dead in Bruges Home; Investigation Underway

Authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of a 30-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man in their Bruges residence on Monday. The Bruges division of the West Flanders prosecutor's office confirmed the find but stated that the circumstances leading to their deaths have not yet been determined.

Emergency services were alerted around 6 p.m. on Monday following a call from the Berkenstraat in the Saint-Pierre neighborhood of Bruges. Upon arrival at the home, they found the couple deceased. The prosecutor's office has initiated a judicial investigation, led by an investigating judge. A forensic team and a medical examiner were dispatched to the scene to conduct initial findings.

The exact cause of the dual deaths remains a mystery, necessitating both an autopsy and toxicological analysis. Reports indicate that the couple, who were of foreign nationality, had four children living with them. It was one of these children who alerted authorities, reportedly after the mother did not arrive for her domestic work job.

According to HLN, no signs of violence were observed at the scene, adding to the perplexing nature of the deaths. The employer of the woman had previously expressed concern when she did not report for work, later visiting the residence where a child informed them their mother was sleeping.
