Court Adjourns NDC’s Suit Seeking to Void Sections of Electoral Act for Judgment

Nigeria's Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced that President Bola Tinubu is actively considering an improved welfare package for personnel within the nation's information sector. This move is part of a broader strategy to bolster the public service and enhance overall service delivery across the Ministry of Information and its associated agencies.

Idris made the disclosure during the second day of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week Celebration in Abuja. The event, which included the presentation of certificates to deserving officers, highlighted the administration's commitment to recognizing and rewarding dedication, professionalism, and outstanding contributions. The minister assured civil servants that the government remains committed to valuing excellence.

"I want to reveal for the first time that we are working with Mr President. He has asked me to look at what we can do, especially for those within the information sector, so that we can improve their welfare package. I want to assure you that Mr President is going to achieve that," Idris stated. He emphasized that the President's directive aims to explore practical ways to uplift the welfare of workers in this critical sector.

The minister also lauded the resilience, dedication, and patriotism of civil servants, describing them as the essential engine of governance and indispensable partners in nation-building. He underscored the strategic importance of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation in fostering national unity, disseminating accurate information, and ensuring citizens understand government policies. Idris reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting President Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Agenda" through effective public communication and national orientation, while also highlighting achievements in economic reforms, infrastructure development, and security efforts.
