CPA seizes prohibited cigarettes, e-cigarettes in North Al Batinah

The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has confiscated prohibited cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and related accessories from a business in Oman's North Al Batinah Governorate. This action is part of the authority's ongoing campaign to inspect markets and prevent the circulation of illegal goods.

During an inspection on June 21, 2026, officials from the Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah seized 17 electronic cigarettes, 123 packs of prohibited cigarettes, and 10 electronic cigarette accessories. The CPA stated that the establishment was found to be possessing, displaying, and selling these banned products, which violates current laws and regulations.

The authority emphasized that this seizure is a component of its continuous efforts to combat the trade of banned items, safeguard consumer health and safety, and put a stop to illicit commercial activities. The CPA reiterated its dedication to increasing market inspections to ensure adherence to consumer protection rules. Businesses are urged to cease trading in prohibited products, and consumers are encouraged to report any violations via the CPA's hotline.
