CPBL: Chiang Kai-chieh Returns to First Team After 111 Days, Pitches One Inning Against Brothers

Unified Lions pitcher Chiang Kai-chieh made his return to the professional league on Tuesday, 111 days after his last appearance. This marked his first game at the Taipei Dome, facing off against the CTBC Brothers.

Chiang, who has been recovering from an injury, had his pitch count managed by the coaching staff. He threw 29 pitches in the first inning, successfully preventing any runs from scoring. However, he was removed from the game at the start of the second inning, with Hu Chih-wei taking over on the mound.

In the first inning, the Brothers managed to get runners on base through a hit and two walks. Despite a strong throw from left fielder Chen Chieh-hsien to home plate that resulted in an out, the Brothers had four runners reach base. Chiang managed to strike out Chiang Kun-yu with the bases loaded, ending the inning without any runs.

After Chiang's exit, Hu Chih-wei issued a walk and then gave up consecutive hits to Kao Yu-chieh and Sung Sheng-jui, allowing the Brothers to score their first run of the game.
