CPBL: Dragons beat Guardians in extra innings on Guo Tian-hsin's walk-off double play

The Wei Chuan Dragons secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Fubon Guardians in a game delayed by rain, snapping their three-game losing streak. The win came in the 10th inning, with a spectacular defensive play by Guo Tian-hsin sealing the result and earning him the Most Valuable Player award.

After a 1-1 tie through nine regulation innings, the Dragons took the lead in the top of the 10th. Liu Chi-Hung and Chu Yu-Hsien drove in runs with consecutive hits, putting Wei Chuan ahead 3-1. The Guardians mounted a comeback in the bottom of the inning, with Tai Pei-Feng hitting a sacrifice fly to bring them within one run.

The game's climax arrived with two outs and a runner on first. Kong Nien-En hit a line drive to center field that appeared destined for a hit, but Guo Tian-hsin made a diving catch. With the tying run advancing from first, Guo quickly threw to first base for a game-ending double play, securing the improbable win for the Dragons.

Both starting pitchers had strong outings. Wei Chuan's Drew Gagnon pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits, while Fubon's Henry, making his first-team debut, surrendered one run over six innings on four hits. Reliever Lin Kai-Wei earned his fourth win in his last four appearances, bringing his season total to eight victories, surpassing his combined total from the previous four seasons.
