A fire broke out at CPC Corporation's Dalin Refinery on the evening of August 23, stemming from a heavy oil leak at the P-110 pump in the 11th distillation plant. The company reported that its internal firefighting team, with assistance from the Kaohsiung City Fire Department, successfully extinguished the blaze by 11:15 PM.

CPC stated that no personnel were injured during the incident. The company has apologized to nearby residents for any disruption caused and has initiated a detailed investigation into the cause of the fire. They also pledged to strengthen equipment inspections and enhance industrial safety and environmental protection efforts.

The refinery's management convened on the morning of August 24 to review the accident. This included assessing damage, evaluating restoration needs, and planning production adjustments. CPC assured that it is maintaining close communication with the Kaohsiung City government to ensure transparency. The company committed to reinforcing equipment checks and preventive maintenance, implementing corrective actions based on the investigation's findings, and ensuring stable domestic oil supply through careful scheduling.
