Criminal Cell Dismantled in Central Tamaulipas; 4 Detained, 1 Suspect Killed

State prosecutors in Tamaulipas announced the dismantling of a criminal cell composed of individuals from outside the state, allegedly linked to various crimes in the central region. The operation, a coordinated effort by the Strategic Operations Unit, targeted a vehicle in Ciudad Victoria that was connected to ongoing investigations.

According to the State Attorney General's Office, the incident occurred in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood when officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The occupants reportedly exited the car, and one individual allegedly fired a weapon at the officers, prompting a response in self-defense.

The confrontation led to the arrest of four individuals and the death of one alleged aggressor. Authorities also confiscated three long firearms, nine magazines, over 270 rounds of ammunition, a communication radio, a ballistic vest, and various documents and a cell phone.

The arrested individuals, along with the seized weapons and items, have been turned over to the Public Ministry, which will continue the investigation into the group's alleged criminal activities.
