Cristiano Ronaldo Nears 1,000 Career Goals After Scoring Match-Winner

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to chase history, inching closer to the monumental milestone of 1,000 career goals after netting the game-winner in Al-Nassr's 2-1 victory over Al-Taawon in the Saudi Pro League. This latest strike brought his astonishing career total to 978 goals.

The match saw Al-Nassr come from behind after Bassam Al-Hurayji opened the scoring for Al-Taawon in the 11th minute. Samu Costa equalized before halftime, assisted by Sadio Mané. Ronaldo then sealed the victory five minutes into the second half, converting a rebound after a shot from Mohamed Simakan.

Ronaldo has achieved over a century of goals for four of the five clubs he has played for: 101 for Juventus, 131 for Al-Nassr, 145 for Manchester United, and a remarkable 450 for Real Madrid. He also scored five goals for Sporting Lisbon and has netted 146 goals for the Portuguese national team.
