In a heartwarming gesture amidst the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a personal video message to Andrés Mieles, a 12-year-old survivor who lost a leg and his family in the disaster.

Mieles, who survived the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, was receiving medical attention at the Hospital Miguel Pérez Carreño. The video message was shown to him by content creator Armando Poyo, who visited the hospital.

The encounter gained traction after a social media user, Juan Kassabji, shared Mieles' story and his wish to receive a Cristiano Ronaldo trading card. The footballer's personal message, expressing his desire to meet the young fan, "I would love to meet you. A hug, friend," offered a moment of hope to Mieles amidst the ongoing tragedy. Official figures report over 2,500 deaths and more than 12,400 injuries from the earthquakes.
