Croatia advances to the last 32 by defeating Ghana 2-1

Croatia secured a 2-1 victory over Ghana in their final Group L match of the 2026 World Cup, advancing to the round of 32. The match, played at Lincoln Financial Field, saw Croatia take an early lead in the 31st minute with a goal from Petar Sucic.

The first half concluded with Croatia holding a 1-0 advantage. Ghana managed to equalize in the 73rd minute through Derrick Luckassen, bringing the score to 1-1. However, Croatia regained the lead in the 83rd minute when Nikola Vlasic scored a header from a Luka Modric cross, ultimately securing the win for his team.

With this result, Zlatko Dalic's Croatia finished second in Group L with 6 points. They are set to face the second-placed team from Group K in the next round. Ghana, managed by Carlos Queiroz, finished third in the group with 4 points. Despite not advancing directly, the African team qualified for the round of 32 as one of the best third-placed teams.
