Croatia Poll: HDZ Support Dips, SDP Holds Steady, Milanović Most Popular Politician

The latest CRO Demoskop poll, conducted by Promocija plus for RTL from June 1-3, indicates that HDZ continues to hold the largest share of voter support in Croatia, with 27.3% of respondents saying they would vote for the party in a parliamentary election. This represents a decrease of almost two percentage points from May.

SDP holds the second position with 22% support, and Možemo! is the third political force with 12%. MOST is the only other party polling above the electoral threshold at 7.5%. The Domovinski pokret, HDZ's main coalition partner, is close behind, while several other parties, including Pravo i pravda, Domino, and IDS, are polling around 1% or less.

Regarding individual politicians, President Zoran Milanović tops the list of most positively viewed figures. Prime Minister and HDZ leader Andrej Plenković follows, with Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević in third place. Notably, four party leaders are among the top ten most positively rated politicians, but the leaders of SDP, Most, and Domovinski pokret are not included.

Conversely, Andrej Plenković is also ranked as the most negatively viewed politician, with 33% of respondents selecting him. Zoran Milanović is second with 11%, and the leader of Domovinski pokret, Ivan Penava, is third. The poll also reveals that 19.5% of citizens believe Croatia is heading in the right direction, while over 70% think the country is moving in the wrong direction. Major events shaping the past month for respondents included a student's murder, high inflation, sports association scandals, the Middle East conflict, and government measures against inflation.
