Croatian Coach Zlatko Dalić Weighs International Offers Amidst Rival's Rise

Zlatko Dalić, the most successful Croatian national team coach in history, is reportedly exploring new career opportunities outside of Croatia. Having led the team to two World Cup medals, Dalić has stated his intention to take on a coaching role with a national team, ruling out club management. He has been linked with potential positions in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea.

However, the landscape for these potential roles is shifting. According to Sportske novosti, Vladimir Petković, another experienced Croatian coach, has become a serious contender for the Saudi Arabian national team's coaching position. Petković recently departed from coaching the Algerian national team after the World Cup, despite achieving a respectable record of 23 wins in 33 matches.

This development potentially narrows Dalić's options. The United Arab Emirates remains a primary target, having reportedly extended an offer that includes an annual salary of five million euros. South Korea is also seeking a coach capable of achieving significant results and is prepared to offer competitive compensation, recognizing Dalić's proven track record.

Dalić is currently on vacation in Dalmatia and is expected to announce his new employer in the early autumn. His decision will be closely watched, given his significant achievements with the Croatian national team.
