Croatian Volleyball Star Marković Prepares for European Championship in Hometown

Zadar, Croatia – Croatian national volleyball team player Josipa Marković is currently undergoing intensive preparations for the upcoming European Championship in her hometown of Zadar. The championship is scheduled to begin on August 21 in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Sweden.

Marković recently completed a successful season with Kanti Schaffhausen in Switzerland, where she was the league's top scorer and helped her team secure the national vice-championship title. Despite offers to stay, she sought a new challenge and signed with CSM Lugoj, a team aiming to return to the top ranks of Romanian volleyball. She noted that her national team teammate, setter Vedrana Jakšetić, also joined the club.

The team's training regimen is rigorous, simulating the demanding pace of three matches in three days expected at the European Championship. Croatia is scheduled to play friendly matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt before a final test against Latvia prior to the tournament. Marković expressed enthusiasm for the championship, stating, "Of course, we qualified for the tournament and now we want to show that we have the quality for greater achievements."
