Cruz Azul presents Alan Mozo and vows to pursue a second straight title

After several days of uncertainty, Cruz Azul made Alan Mozo’s arrival official on its social media channels. The right back passed his medical examination at La Noria and joined training under Joel Huiqui.

Mozo becomes Cruz Azul’s third signing for the tournament. He has played in Mexican football for Pumas, Chivas and Pachuca, and had appeared for Pachuca during the opening rounds of the Apertura 2026 before moving to the reigning champions.

The defender also met supporters outside the club’s facilities before leaving in his vehicle. Asked about his main objective with Cruz Azul, Mozo offered a direct promise: “We’re going for the bicampeonato.”

The club appeared to hint that Mozo will wear number 2, first posting an emoji with that number and then sharing a video welcoming him as a player for La Máquina. His arrival gives Cruz Azul more competition at a position the squad needed to strengthen.

The agreement with Pachuca initially covers a loan for the tournament. Cruz Azul can keep Mozo permanently by exercising the purchase clause in the contract. His first appearance could come Sunday against Santos at Estadio Banorte in the seventh round of the Apertura 2026.
