Crystal Virgin Mary Statue Becomes New Landmark in Czech Spa Town

A new crystal statue of the Virgin Mary now graces the skyline of Mariánské Lázně, a spa town in the Czech Republic. The statue, installed atop a thanksgiving column in Goethovo náměstí, has quickly become a prominent feature in the heart of the town. Its unique design allows it to blend with its surroundings at times, while at others, it shines brightly, visible from afar.

The installation is situated between the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the town's famous Mariin pramen (Mary's Spring). This central location makes the statue a focal point for both religious and civic life in Mariánské Lázně. The town anticipates the statue will draw visitors and add to its unique charm.

The new landmark is set to receive a formal blessing in a ceremony scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at 11 a.m. This event is expected to be attended by local dignitaries and residents, marking the official unveiling and dedication of the crystal effigy.
