In Osun State, a civil society group has voiced strong objections to what it describes as a politically motivated redeployment of electoral commission staff. The Coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizens staged a protest and submitted a petition, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is engaging in a pattern of selective and opaque staff transfers that could jeopardize the integrity of the upcoming governorship election.

We strongly decry the ongoing wave of postings and redeployments of INEC staff within Osun State, which appear to be selective, opaque, and overtly partisan in nature.

This, they argue, is not only suspicious but also a departure from practices seen in other states like Ekiti and Anambra, where similar large-scale reshuffling did not occur prior to gubernatorial polls.
