Convenience store chain CU is set to release a new premium distilled liquor, 'Silla Ju,' on August 26. This unique beverage is presented as a modern rendition of traditional Korean alcohol that is referenced in ancient texts dating back to the Silla Dynasty.

The 'Silla Ju' is a 375ml bottle with an alcohol content of 20% ABV. Its creation is the result of a collaboration with manufacturer Woori Sul Company, which meticulously researched historical documents related to the Silla period and traditional homemade brewing techniques passed down in the Gyeongju region. The aim was to reinterpret these elements to suit contemporary consumer tastes.
