Cultist clash during Lagos festival hospitalizes four

A violent clash between suspected rival cult groups has left four individuals hospitalized following an Isese Day celebration in the Ewu area of Oshodi, Lagos State. The incident occurred on Thursday while the festivities were underway, disrupting the community event.

Sources within the community reported that the trouble began when members of two rival groups confronted each other at the event venue. What initially appeared to be a minor disagreement quickly escalated into a full-blown fight, with some participants allegedly brandishing dangerous weapons. The violence caused panic among residents and passersby, who scrambled for safety.

One of the injured individuals sustained a stab wound to the face. All four were taken to the hospital for treatment. An anti-cultism platform, Naija Confra, suggested the clash involved Eiye cultists from the Mafoluku and Ewu areas. A video circulating online reportedly shows a man from Ewu with severe facial injuries, though his current condition is unknown.

The exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear as of the time of reporting. Efforts to obtain a reaction from the Lagos State Police Command were ongoing.
