Cumhuriyet's Cartoonists Exhibit Opens, Charting Turkey's History Through Art

Cumhuriyet newspaper, a bastion of Turkish journalism for over a century, proudly presents 'The Cartoonists of Cumhuriyet' exhibition. This significant cultural event, held in collaboration with the Kadıköy Municipality, is more than just a display of art; it is a visual chronicle of our nation's history as seen through the sharp, often critical, eyes of our esteemed cartoonists. For 102 years, Cumhuriyet has not only championed democracy and the core principles of the Republic but has also been a vital patron of arts and literature. Our cartoonists, nurtured within the pages of Cumhuriyet, have consistently provided insightful commentary, reflecting the pulse of the nation. This exhibition celebrates their legacy and their indispensable contribution to Turkish culture. We are particularly proud to host this event in Kadıköy, a district that itself values and preserves the art of caricature. We are bringing the cartoons of 102 years of Cumhuriyet to you today. Very special cartoons were selected. Kadıköy Municipality has Turkey's first and only cartoon house. Therefore, as a municipality that attaches great importance to caricature, we are very happy to host this exhibition.
