Cunha scores twice as Brazil win 3-0 and eliminate Haiti at World Cup

Brazil secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Haiti at the World Cup, clinching the top spot in Group C and sending their opponents home. Matheus Cunha was the star of the match, netting two goals, while Vinicius Jr contributed another in a dominant first-half performance.

The Brazilians asserted control early on. In the 23rd minute, Vinicius Jr's shot was initially saved by Haitian goalkeeper Johny Placide, but the rebound deflected off Cunha and into the net for the opening goal. Cunha doubled the lead in the 36th minute, latching onto a precise through ball from Vinicius Jr and firing into the top corner.

Vinicius Jr completed the first-half scoring in added time, calmly finishing after receiving a long pass from Lucas Paqueta. With a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime, Brazil eased their intensity in the second half. Goalkeeper Alisson faced minimal threats as the five-time champions comfortably saw out the victory.

The result eliminated Haiti, who became the first team to be knocked out of contention for the knockout stage. Brazil now leads Group C with four points, level with Morocco, who secured a 1-0 win against Scotland earlier. Scotland remains in contention with three points, while Haiti finishes bottom with none.
