CyberDay 2026 closes with US$531 million in sales

Chile's annual e-commerce event, CyberDay 2026, concluded with total sales reaching US$531 million, according to the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS). This figure represents a slight increase of 1.4% compared to the previous year's event.

While the overall sales value grew, the number of transactions actually decreased by 4%, totaling 5.1 million. This suggests a trend towards higher average purchase values during the event. The CCS highlighted the efficiency of its Resolution Online (REL) mechanism, which successfully resolved 83% of disputes between buyers and sellers in less than 24 hours.

María Teresa Vial, president of the CCS, emphasized the commitment to swift and collaborative solutions, noting that the average resolution time remained at 29 hours despite increased demand. The event saw approximately one in four individuals making purchases across participating websites. The surge in online shopping during CyberDay is also expected to contribute positively to the June Consumer Price Index (IPC), adding an estimated 0.4 percentage points.
