Czech Republic coach Miroslav Koubek acknowledged the exceptional performance of Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu following his team's 2-1 defeat. "Kim Seung-gyu made great saves," Koubek stated, expressing regret over a disallowed offside goal that would have given the Czechs a crucial lead. The Czech coach felt the decision was unfortunate. The match, part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, saw the Czech Republic take an early lead in the 59th minute through a header from Ladislav Krejčí, capitalizing on a long throw-in. However, Korea managed to turn the game around with two late goals from Hwang In-beom in the 67th minute and Oh Hyun-gyu in the 80th minute. Koubek noted that his team's energy levels dropped significantly after their initial success. He also pointed to a missed opportunity when Tomáš Souček scored a header from a set piece in the 77th minute, only for it to be ruled offside. A decisive shot from Michal Sadílek in the final minutes was also brilliantly saved by Kim Seung-gyu, further frustrating the Czechs' efforts to equalize.
