Czech PM: Expo 2027 in Belgrade will be 'first-class'

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has lauded the upcoming Expo 2027 in Belgrade, Serbia, describing it as a "first-class" event that Czech citizens should experience firsthand. During a visit to Belgrade, Babiš toured the Expo site and expressed enthusiasm for the scale of the project.

"Expo 2027 in Serbia will be first-class, you have to go there to see it," Babiš stated, highlighting the planned "great pavilion" for the Czech Republic. He pointed to Serbia's substantial investment of 1.2 billion euros in the expo, which spans 200 hectares, and the concurrent construction of a new 52,000-seat football stadium. Babiš characterized these developments as a "fantastic investment."

Beyond the Expo, Babiš celebrated the success of a recent Czech business mission to Serbia. He expressed confidence that Serbia would purchase Czech L-39 Skyfox light attack aircraft for advanced flight training. "Our trade with Serbia is growing dramatically," he added.

Furthermore, Babiš announced a significant arms sale to Montenegro, valued at 24.2 million euros. This deal, signed during the visit of Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to Prague, includes automatic rifles, pistols, ammunition, and the latest CZ BREN 3 rifles. Babiš proudly noted this as the first arms sale to a NATO member country, calling it "great news."
