Da'an Langhua Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament Kicks Off in Taichung

The second annual Da'an Langhua Cup Beach Volleyball tournament kicked off today on the beach outside the Mazu Cultural Park in Taichung's Da'an District, drawing a crowd of talented athletes.

The two-day event, held on July 18-19, began with intense preliminary matches under the summer sun. Players showcased impressive skills in digs and spikes, cheered on by enthusiastic spectators. An opening ceremony and launch event were held to honor the competitors.

The tournament will continue tomorrow with the final rounds to determine the champions, followed by a closing and awards ceremony in the afternoon. To engage the public, organizers have included a lottery with prizes such as televisions, vacuum cleaners, and hair dryers, available to those who visit the event.

Da'an District Chief Xu Hongqi highlighted the district's natural advantages, stating, "Da'an District has unique natural beaches and scenery, making it very suitable for hosting beach volleyball events." He expressed hope that the Langhua Cup would encourage more people to engage in outdoor activities, promote local sports culture, and stimulate tourism in the area.

Alongside the competition, the event also features a diverse food market and a food truck party, aiming to enhance the summer seaside experience and boost the local economy.
