Da Nang collects more than 3.3 trillion dong during five-day National Day holiday

Da Nang recorded more than 3.3 trillion dong in tourism revenue during Vietnam’s five-day National Day holiday, as visitor numbers rose sharply from last year.

The city estimated that more than 850,000 people visited or used tourism services between Aug. 29 and Sept. 2, up more than 37% from the same period in 2025. Overnight stays reached about 275,000, including more than 224,000 international visitors.

Average hotel occupancy across the city stood at 65% to 70%. Four- and five-star hotels, and comparable properties, reached about 75%, with visitors concentrating in coastal and central areas including An Hai, Ngu Hanh Son, Hai Chau, Son Tra and Hoi An.

Da Nang filled the holiday with large-scale events. The Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026, held from Aug. 30 to Sept. 6, attracted nearly 5,000 people from 81 countries and territories. At APEC Park, the city staged “Returning to the Sacred Moment,” using 360-degree virtual reality to recreate Ba Dinh Square on Sept. 2, 1945.

Hoi An’s 2026 Creative Week linked heritage, traditional crafts and folk arts with design, technology and contemporary creative activities. Other programs included street dances, street music, bai choi performances, tuong theater and events at the Museum of Cham Sculpture and the My Son sanctuary.

Airports in Da Nang operated 810 domestic and international flights during the five-day break, 19% more than a year earlier. Rail operators also added North-South and regional trains to meet travel demand.
