Da Nang Traffic Police Process More Than 800 Speeding Cases During National Day Holiday

Da Nang traffic police handled 1,606 road-safety violations in the first three days of the September 2 National Day holiday, including 804 speeding cases and 108 alcohol-related violations.

The city police traffic division said officers worked with commune and ward police to patrol key roads and locations throughout the holiday period. Authorities focused on speeding and driving under the influence, which they identified as high-risk behaviors that can lead to traffic accidents.

Patrol teams operated continuously, day and night, on roads in the city center, at entry points to Da Nang, along coastal routes, around tourist destinations and in other crowded areas. Officers intensified alcohol checks during the evening and overnight hours while also strictly handling drivers who exceeded speed limits.

Traffic police also monitored conditions and directed vehicles in areas at risk of congestion. They said patrols would continue during the remaining holiday days, especially at city gateways, in the center and at busy tourist sites.

The Da Nang traffic police division urged residents and visitors not to drive after drinking alcohol, to follow speed limits, maintain safe distances and obey traffic signals. It repeated the message: “If you drink alcohol, do not drive.”
