Daan Longsheng Community Center Opens, Featuring Parking, Childcare, Elder Care, and Hakka Hub

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an celebrated the opening of the Daan District's Longsheng Community Center, a new landmark near the MRT Technology Building Station. The comprehensive facility, achieved through the efforts of local council members and city officials, aims to serve residents with a range of amenities.

The Longsheng Complex features a multi-level parking lot offering preferential rates for residents, helping to alleviate local parking pressure. Additionally, a YouBike station is located on the first floor, with a dedicated bicycle parking area on the second. To support families with caregiving needs, the second and fourth floors house a nursery and a long-term care institution, respectively. The community center itself, located on the third floor, is slated to open on July 1, providing enhanced activity spaces for residents.

Further enhancing the center's community focus, the fifth and sixth floors are designated for a Hakka Incubation Center. Local council member Shen Feng-yun, who is of Hakka descent, has previously organized Hakka literature classes, and this new center is expected to become a vital hub for promoting Hakka culture.

In a separate technological development, Mayor Chiang announced a collaboration with NVIDIA. The city aims to optimize the Wenhu Line MRT, which opened 30 years ago, using AI and 3D modeling powered by NVIDIA's Omniverse platform. This initiative will precede a full system upgrade of the signaling and vehicles scheduled for 2036, ensuring improved efficiency and safety for the aging transit line.
