Dance for Peace Gala Honors Mercedes Sosa's Legacy

The enduring power of art and solidarity is exemplified by Danzar por la Paz, a charity gala that has sustained its mission for over a decade. Under the guidance of dancer and choreographer Leonardo Reale, the event unites artists from diverse backgrounds for a single night with a common goal: to improve the lives of children and adolescents. The 21st edition of this spectacle is set to take place on June 17 at the Teatro El Nacional. This year, the gala pays tribute to the iconic voice of Mercedes Sosa. Participating artists and companies will present original choreographic works inspired by her legacy, with singer Nahuel Pennisi also set to perform. Through dance, the event will recognize and interpret the profound impact of the undisputed icon of Latin American music. The program will showcase a variety of styles, including tango, folklore, contemporary, and urban dance, performed by artists such as Marcos Ayala and Paola Camacho, Vendaval Compañía de Danza, Jonathan Lazarte and Jimena Visetti, Danzan Hechas Tierra, Florencia Passoni and Rubén Forlin, Identity Company, Lucía Bargados and Juan Manuel Jauregui, Ballet Flor de Amankay, the Elenco Concertado del Teatro del Bicentenario de San Juan, Isaac Gardella, and Maia Roldán.
