Dangerous Driving by Garbage Trucks Frequent in Yilan County; Sanshi Township Tops Speeding List for Nine Months

Garbage trucks in Taiwan's Yilan County are frequently engaging in dangerous driving behaviors, including excessive speeding and crossing double yellow lines, compromising traffic order and safety. These actions have raised concerns among authorities and the public.

Specifically, the sanitation team from Sanshi Township has been identified as the most significant offender. Their garbage trucks recorded the highest number of speeding violations for nine consecutive months, from January to September of the previous year. This consistent pattern of rule-breaking has drawn scrutiny from the audit department.

In response to these repeated violations, the Yilan County Environmental Protection Bureau has formally communicated with the Sanshi Township office. The bureau has issued a directive urging the township to address the issue and implement measures to ensure their garbage trucks adhere to traffic laws and operate safely.
