Danish Debutant Adam Daghim Aims for Top League Move Away from Austria

Adam Daghim, a 20-year-old winger, made his debut for the Danish national football team in a goalless draw against DR Congo on Wednesday evening. Despite showing promising flashes, Daghim expressed frustration over a missed opportunity in the first half.

"We should have won the game, and I should have scored. I'm annoyed about that. As silly as I was, I changed my mind when I was about to finish. And it went completely wrong," Daghim stated, reflecting on his missed chance. He is now focused on proving his worth to secure a continued place on the national team.

Daghim is currently on loan from RB Salzburg to Wolfsburg, a team that was relegated from the Bundesliga last season. He made it clear that he does not wish to return to Austria. "Overall, I just want to move on from Salzburg. The club knows that too. Hopefully, there will be some interest and the right offer for me," he said. His priority is to play at the highest possible level, ideally in one of Europe's top-five leagues.

Daghim was initially not part of the squad but received a late call-up when Gustav Isaksen was injured. He was surprised to be included in the starting lineup for the match against DR Congo. "I was surprised to play from the start, but conversely, I've had some good training sessions and I'm happy for the chance Brian gave me," he commented. Playing for the national team has been a lifelong dream, and he hopes to continue representing Denmark if he performs well at the club level.
