Danish men's ice hockey team gets new national coach

The Danish men's national ice hockey team has appointed Swedish coach Tommy Samuelsson as its new head coach, the Danish Ice Hockey Union announced. Samuelsson succeeds Mikael Gath, who left the position in May. He is set to officially begin his tenure on August 1.

It is a dream for me to coach a national team at this level, and it will be an interesting challenge," Samuelsson said.

He expressed familiarity with Danish ice hockey, having worked with many Danish players throughout his career in Sweden. Samuelsson noted their natural talent, technical skill, and good game understanding. The 66-year-old coach's arrival is expected to bring new energy and expertise to the Danish team as they aim for future success.
