Danube River Level Continues to Fall, Rousse Sees 3cm Drop

The Danube River's water level is steadily declining, impacting navigation and local conditions. In Rousse, Bulgaria, the river has fallen by 3 centimeters compared to Thursday's levels.

According to the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River, the current water level in Rousse stands at minus 121 centimeters below the conventional zero mark. This significant drop indicates a prolonged period of low water flow.

While the overall trend is downward, a minor increase in the water level was observed near the settlement of Novo Selo. However, this localized rise does not counteract the broader trend of falling levels along the crucial European waterway.

The continued decrease in the Danube's depth poses challenges for shipping and raises concerns about the river's ecosystem. Further monitoring is essential to understand the full implications of this ongoing decline.
