DATS24 Gas Station in Halle Closed After Benzine 95 Contamination Causes Engine Problems

The DATS24 gas station in Halle has temporarily shut its doors following reports of contaminated Benzine 95 fuel causing vehicle issues. Several drivers experienced engine problems shortly after refueling at the station located at Bilkensveld, with some garages indicating the presence of water in the gasoline.

Virya Energy, the energy holding company of Colruyt Group which operates the DATS24 station, has acknowledged the problem. A spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause, with contamination being a possibility. The affected station is closed pending the results of laboratory tests on various samples.

What exactly is going on is still being investigated. There may be contamination. Various samples are being examined in the lab and in the meantime, the station in question is closed.

This incident echoes a similar issue that occurred with DATS24 about two years ago, primarily in Wallonia. While weather conditions might be a contributing factor to the contamination, the company stressed that a full investigation will be conducted. Customers who experienced problems after refueling with Benzine 95 at the Halle station are advised to contact DATS24. The company has stated that individual cases will be processed, and they are insured to handle the necessary compensation.
