Daughter's Alert as Attack Unfolds at Fagersta School

Madelen Jansson waited outside Brinellskolan in Fagersta, Sweden, for her daughter after police responded to an ongoing attack at the school. Jansson's daughter was in class when the alert sounded. She texted her mother that police were present and students were confined to their classrooms. Jansson, who lives nearby, rushed to the school upon hearing sirens. She learned the situation was more serious than initially perceived. "It's very strange. It's something that doesn't happen. It's the kind of thing that happens in movies," Jansson said. She added that her daughter stated she was fine, but acknowledged that the full emotional impact might only become clear once the shock subsides.
