Afrobeats sensation Davido shared an amusing anecdote about the making of his iconic music video for 'Aye.' The singer explained that the woman initially chosen to play the lead role had to withdraw just before filming due to a conflict with beauty pageant contractual obligations.

The girl that was meant to be the main girl, she was in some pageant thing. So we were about to shoot and the manager said they called from the pageant that she’s under contract and we can’t use her for the video.

With filming already scheduled and no room for postponement, Davido and his team made a swift decision. "We couldn’t reschedule so we had to use her make-up artist," he revealed during an interview with Capital Xtra. This last-minute casting change, born out of necessity, unexpectedly became a significant part of the video's narrative.
